CONTEXT: Set in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas the location of the project is flanked by the Gorumara forest sanctuary, tea plantations and torrential rivers. CLIENTS BRIEF : The client and the architects mutually agreed that the design must blend into the natural setting from the very inception stage. The use of concrete and steel should be avoided in the rendering of spaces while emphasizing on the locally available natural materials.
“Burra Sahib” suite reminiscent of the exotic, quaint and luxurious lifestyle of the colonial tea estate planters of North Bengal. Done up with period style furniture and décor.
