Living Room
A living room is the most formal area in a home, which is used for meeting and entertaining guests. It is therefore furnished and treated to create a mood of relaxation. The term sitting room is sometimes used synonymously with living room, although a sitting room may also occur in a hotel or other public building.
A typical Indian living room may contain furnishings such as a sofa, chairs, centre tables, and bookshelves, electric lamps and rugs.
Often the dining area is a physical extension of the living area, and thus the room is aesthetically treated as one. Also most living rooms in India are equipped with a television.
