Partitions / Screens
Every large space may be visually or physically segregated into smaller spaces; based on the needs of the occupants. However, often, instead of creating walls as permanent dividers, the space is fragmented with the help of partitions. These offer considerable privacy to the individual spaces without visually cutting the expanse of the space.
Often items of furniture such as cabinets or entertainment units are used to demarcate the usage of two spaces.
Partitions or screens or dividers may be opaque or translucent or transparent – depending on the level of privacy desired in the space they enclose. Often, they are preferred to be opaque from bottom; with transparent or translucent top-halves.
Wood, metal, glass, gypsum board, polystyrene and composite aluminium are some of the popular materials used for making partitions.
