Staircase
A stairway, staircase, stairwell or flight of stairs is a method of vertical access; designed to bridge a large vertical distance by dividing it into smaller vertical distances, called steps. A continuous series of steps is called a flight. The entire distance may be covered by a single flight or may consist of two (or more) flights connected at angles. The space between the two flights is called a mid-landing; while the culmination of the last flight on the upper level is called the landing.
