Memorial / Spiritual Centre
Whether grandiose edifices pompously announcing the stature and contribution of the person in whose honour the memorial has been built; or simple structures offering solemn tributes; memorials have a significant place in design.
Some memorials have a lot of other facilities (such as auditoriums or pedestrian plazas) augmenting the usage of the edifice while others (such as shrines / ashrams) may offer restful and meditative ambiences for the visitors. Sometimes ashrams also offer courses in yoga, spiritual healing and alternative therapies.
