Transport Air
Increasingly there is the trend to jazz up or customize vehicles as per user preference. A costly affair, of course but one that can’t be ignored! And thus we come to
bespoke vehicular interiors… Cars and bikes, of course are the first choice. More eminent personalities such as movie stars require larger vehicles – which are called
‘vanity vans’ and which are seen equipped with a lounge, washroom, pantry, bar and home theatre!! This is one of the newer and developing segment for designers to
explore.
Then there are the very classy trains – designed with the comforts and amenities of luxury hotels. Here too, the interior ambience has a high aesthetic quotient;
reflecting their stature as a ‘palace on wheels’. These trains shuttle along specific routes, catering more to the upper classes and foreign tourists.
Airplanes too, private jets and some in the public domain, get such bespoke treatments. Equipped with complete and highly comfortable sleeping facilities, and donning
the ambience of a classy hotel – this is air travel at its very best! The styling of the interiors of different private jets, of course will vary to suit the owners'
tastes and needs.
Cruises have become maddeningly popular – and luxury yachts, ships, cruisers are thus designed for ultimate user comfort. Cruise ships operate mostly on routes that
return passengers to their originating port, so the ports of call are usually in a specified region of a continent. There are even "cruises to nowhere" or "nowhere
voyages" where the ship makes 2–3 night round trips without any ports of call. It is thus the sheer experience of traveling on water, with a luxurious ambience and
excellent service.
