Civil Work / Masonry
Masonry is the building of structures from individual units laid in and bound together by mortar. The common materials of masonry construction are brick, stone, marble, granite, travertine, limestone, cast stone, concrete block, glass block, stucco, and tile. Masonry is generally the most durable form of construction. However, the materials used, the quality of the mortar and workmanship, and the pattern in which the units are assembled can significantly affect the durability of the overall masonry construction. Usually masonry structures require highly skilled personnel and supervision.
In India, building or interior projects are handled by contractors; who have various teams of skilled labour working under them. The overall responsibility of the site is given to these contractors; who ensure the timely and successful execution of the civil work / masonry.
