With a Degree in ARCHITECTURAL ENGINEERING from National Institute of Technology, Calicut, Kerala in 1993, Mujib gained experience working on various projects and set up his own practice in 1998. In 2002, he started Collaborative Architecture with Lalita Tharani - and the practice has grown phenomenally over time.
At Collaborative Architecture, the act of doing architecture is not a forced result of the brief, but a compulsive urge of the creative mind. The designs are more often not, not a result of a rational process, but, intuitive, often layered palimpsests of logical, irrational, bizarre, poetic, clarified and impossible thoughts. The practice is driven by innovation and ceaseless pursuit of quality in design to create projects, which are highly sensitive, poetic, and contemporary. Every project is an exploration, going beyond the functional brief, creating a symbiosis of people, places, culture, climate, economy and collaborative efforts of related disciplines.
