The Architect Apical Reforms design had designed the building volumetrically divide in to two sections, the base being the framed podium that shoulders a glass box with protruding fins which envelopes the building.
The façade design was ideal for us to try something new to play with animated frontage dynamic lighting and gobos, creating an illusion of making the fins of the building move during night to enhance the architecture. “We were looking to wash the complete façade with flawless colour changing and various animations to make the building look different and fresh every time someone looks at it.
The building even though was in complete symmetry but had critical lighting design issue like the projection of Gobos should not spill in the working area through the glazing façade, we had to derive the solution by trigonometric calculation to project the beam from a 45 degree angle from either side to avoid light polluting in to the work area and only project on the protruding fins.
The entire lighting system was maintained to be highly cost effective merely six fixtures to illuminate 2500sqm building surface.
