Want a fried egg – sunny side up? Grab the fork and the knife next to it and dig into its delightful golden yolk and the crispy white! But wait – ask if it is served up by Sushant Rane – and you will have to think twice! Because the egg is not real….nor is the knife and fork! That is his ‘hyper-realistic 3-D’ art!!
Sushant Sushil Rane is a teenager from Mumbai, studying Arts in a local college and breaking the internet with his fantabulously real drawings of everyday objects!
Check out the Nutella bottle – can it get more real than that?? Or the broken egg with the shell beside it…? Or the clear glass mug…?? And the crushed can of Coke?? And the light bulb? Or the half-twisted Rubik’s Cube? And what about the iPhone??? Realistic, nay hyper-realistic - that's the word!
The amazingly talented young chap, totally self-taught, uses graphite pencils and various assorted pens to create his wonderful 3D drawings. Though he started drawing and painting at an early age, he took to serious drawing about six years ago – when he started making sketches of celebrities.
Last year, he shifted focus to 3D art – and the results were outstanding! The most mundane object, transforms into a delightful piece of art – under Sushant’s expert rendition of hyper-realism!
Rane is most active on Instagram – delighting his 40000+ followers with each masterly creation. Also he posts progress photos, showing the stages of a drawing – so one can virtually see the object come to life on paper!
"I love to draw with different materials as it gives me freedom to draw or to create whatever I what and also creates unlimited possibilities. If you ask me about a specific material I would love to work with? Then definitely graphite pencils," says the prodigal artist.
It takes him a day to finish a drawing. But he’s working at improving the pace! With such talent on his fingertips, the young artist certainly has a promising future. We, at TFOD – wish him well on his journey ahead.
