The brief was to provide highway amenities along the Mumbai nasik highway. This project has three main parts – petrol pump, food court and a small hotel with a banquet. The important aspects of designing along a highway are visibility and time. One should be able to see it to acknowledge it and once inside one should be able to get out as quickly as possible. Time is of the essence here.
The site had many contours with a channel right in the middle dividing the site into two parts. As I mentioned earlier there are three parts to this program two of which are more public in nature and third (hotel) being private.
