With a Profile on TFOD flaunting proficiency in Painting, Sketching, Graphic Design and Calligraphy, Jigisha Dwivedi bags the Hafele TFOD Profile Of The Week! The Mumbai-based artist now has good collections to display – however, a collection of portraits of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, remains under wraps!! Jigisha says she would like to work closely with interior designers, from the very onset of the project and create customized paintings that merge with the décor they have visualized! And that’s the traction she hopes to get from the creative potpourri she has displayed on The Future Of Design!

‘Draw’ the future. ‘Paint’ it with happiness…believes the multi-talented, multi-faceted TFODian, Mumbai-based artist Jigisha Dwivedi! A born artist, winning accolades all through her schooling years, Jigisha quite naturally, veered towards the arts, for further studies too. After studying Applied Arts, she started a career in Advertising. As she progressed from a Visualizer to a Marcom Manager, and got busier in her career, she lost touch with her painting. But the passion to paint ultimately drew her back into the fold. “Art is a form of self-expression. Painting gives me joy and peace. It helps me connect with myself. I think the need to communicate my thoughts and express myself on canvas got me to start painting again. Now, after more than 14 successful years in Marketing Communications, I am starting a new journey in the world of Art,” explains Jigisha.

This journey is more of a soul-searching one; where each painting sees her asking questions, intriguing the viewer with her philosophical perspectives. She explores varied themes, experiments with textures, and infuses vibrant colours in her simple, minimalistic and graphic compositions. Each art-work is a tool of expressing herself – one that puts up interesting points to ponder upon, and quenches her thirst for seeking answers.

Having built a significant collection, Jigisha recently started exhibiting her works. Such interactions give artists a lot of exposure to artists and artworks, from across the world. She participated in the Group Exhibition in Mumbai in Oct 2014, the Dubai ARTFAIR in Oct-Nov 2014, and again in Mumbai, she was a part of the group show “expressions” at Easel Art gallery in December. “These were good platforms to showcase my work and I got a lot of feedback, exposure and experience too,” says Jigisha.

Of late, there is a significant increase in the awareness about and the importance of having art as embellishment, in any interior space. The value of art in enhancing décor has increased manifold. There are so many projects where customized art-works can be used to enhance the appeal of the design theme.  Jigisha’s special attribute is her willingness to work with architects and interior designers on theme-based art-works. “These days homes and offices too are adorned with art-works. I would be happy to create customized art-works that will flow with the décor theme,” suggests Jigisha. With the fast-blurring lines between art and architecture, this idea sure has potential.

It is here that fraternity-portals like The Future Of Design have a major role to play! We help artists display their talent on an online global medium, and encourage cross-fraternity interaction. Jigisha’s presence on The Future Of Design not only highlights her skills and talent via her Profile, but also provides her a forum to carry her new-age ideas across to a close-knit, online, global community of art, architecture and design!
