Madhurie Pandit is a versatile and talented artist/designer, exploring different avenues for her creativity. One of TFOD’s most ardent participants, Madhurie has been actively using the platform to showcase her talent. Besides she also promotes TFOD within her friends from the fraternity! The Thane-based self-taught artist on a whirlwind journey towards success, once again claims the year’s very first TFOD Profile Of The Week

Some people find their calling a bit late. The calling for art, albeit late, is however one that stays forever. Madhurie Pandit is one such. Laden with certificates - a PG in E-Business from Welingkars, B.Sc (Chemistry) from Mumbai University and Software Engineering from Aptech – the avenues ahead were numerous, but nothing seemed appealing enough. Finally her passion for art got the better of her educational qualifications and that’s the line she decided to pursue as a career!!

The self-taught artist then discovered Warli art, and was fascinated by it. “It was love at first sight”…says the artist. She then explored the art and came up with her own, different style of making Warli-styled art on paper, canvas as well as different objects such as trays, coasters, tealight-holders and pencil-stands! Thus came about Maddie's Fingers, The Arty Ones – and items under this brand name are sold on online shops, through personal assignments from friends and gaining popularity in corporate gifting solutions.

Soon, the artist started experimenting with other art-forms and media - pencil / graphite / charcoal sketches, photo colour stipplings and poster colours. Her keen sense of colour comes through in her paintings; her eye for details is evident in the stipplings rendered in pen and ink! Check out her varied works on her TFOD Profile!

Buddha is a favourite with many contemporary artists, and interesting variants are seen in Madhurie’s portfolio. Other religious figurines also make their way into the work with paintings like Krishna, Ganesha, Shiva and ShivaShakti.

Of course, the love for Warli manifests in much of her art – and she has now evolved a trademark style. She creates greeting cards and posters, specific to occasions like Diwali, Holi and Christmas – which blend the iconography relevant to the particular festival with her interpretation of Warli art!

Madhurie’s frequent participation on The Future Of Design and her enthusiastic interaction helps her bag the TFOD Profile Of The Week – for the second time!! She was incidentally, the FIRST ever Profile Of The Week; and much deserves to claim it once again!
