Kirloskar Vasundhara Inetrnational Film Festival is an Indian Film Festival that has been going on for the past six years. They screen national and international movies based on the central theme of wildlife, environment and energy which makes it a unique initiative. Discussions are also held on the subject with a panel of experts in the field.

KVIFF aims at understanding and analyzing environmental issues we face today and initiate discussions towards a better tomorrow. With a strive to protect and preserve the earth for the generations to come, they present a platform for like minded people to come together and exchange ideas and veiws on the subject. The communication medium of films is a very effective and strong way to put ideas across a large audience and the society at large.

This year's event screened a total of 30 movies from 10 different countries. In additon to films, there was a display of world class photography. Cultural Programmes were held for all age groups. Various competitions took place like street plays, drawing and short films. Expert lectures were organized, along with demonstartions and discussions on the topic of zero waste. Architect Shirish Beri was felicitated with the Vasundhara Sanman for his achievements in the architecture and the philosphy of 'zero waste' that he employs for a sustainable future. 

Shirish Beri is a renowned name well-recognised for his eco-friendly architecture. He has a lot of national and international awards to his name. Apart from being an established architect he is also a passionate poet, photographer, painter and academician. His real life concerns, values and his undying love for nature is what inspires a lot of the work he does. Instead of limiting himself to a particular style, his work is a result of his response to the site conditions. His quest to find a deeper meaning in life makes him strive to answer social and cultural concerns. He is deeply plagued by man turning a blind eye towards nature and to each other. Through his work he tries to find the balance in life.
