TFOD Profile Of The Week: Ar. Ruchi Shah Gandhi, Mavrick Design Studio, Pune

Owner at Mavrick Design Studio, a Pune-based practice, Ruchi Shah Gandhi has been practicing as a designer since her student days.  A diverse experience of 5+ years with reputed organizations across the country has helped her refine her design ideology. Her philosophy is to capture the spatial matrix by understanding the clients’ requirement, language, culture and then translating them into a functional, productive and creative work environment. Focusing on delivering innovative solutions, her interests include residential, commercial and retail interiors. 

Ruchi is a qualified architect with Master in Interior Architecture and Design (specialization in Energy Efficiency) from CEPT University, Ahmedabad, India. She has had the opportunity to present her research thesis at the ASME 8th International Conference on Energy and Sustainability, Boston, MA, USA. She was also awarded scholarship for Ontario Maharashtra Goa exchange program; through which she did a research program at Carleton University, Canada for 6 months. Her education and experience have enabled her to develop the skills of designing energy efficient buildings, with appropriate energy resource management.

Showcasing some elegant residential interior projects on her TFOD profile, Ruchi comes across as a sensitive designer, adapting herself to varied design sensibilities. Responding to the client's needs and addressing specific issues to satisfy their aspirations, lends a personal touch to her work. The 3 BHK apartment designed as a show-flat is a particularly significant project in the portfolio of Mavrick Design Studio. Muted, neutral colours enhance a sophisticated décor scheme, suggesting bespoke luxury.
