The MPT Office is what takes form when the owner of a Project Management Consultancy firm finds a designing team such as Usine: known for their clean and minimal sense of aesthetics. Being directly involved in the construction business, Mr. Mayur Thakkar had a keen eye for detail. His good command on technicalities allowed him to be involved in discussions about all the aspects, at every stage of the design. His wife, Mrs.Amee thakkar divides her time between managing their home and being a part-time travel consultant. They both together aspired for a workspace that could do justice to their personalities as well as the nature of their work.
The budget they put forward and their inclination towards the idea of ‘truth to detail’ led the design to be such that the basics are laid bare. The project attempts at demonstrating various construction aspects so that parts of this office serve as examples for their interactions with the clients.
The challenge thus was to create a place with well-detailed aesthetics that are functional and can be employed as instances for their work.
The designing team began with making some crucial civil changes in the layout. The preceding location of the staircase according to the larger complex was changed to one on the interior face of the duplex space. The main entrance was also moved from what the conventional framework had allowed. The design palette was constituted of exposed concrete and brick to reflect the materials he majorly worked with.
